I don't put much credence in the opinions of magazine editors on bikes. Most of those comments about the Savage as a "toy motorcycle" or "a pussy cat of a motorcycle" are done with little practical concern about advice.
Another example is the underrated GZ250 was shown as needing serious ponies in one magazine. Not everyone needs a cruise capable bike.
As far as Be_Savage goes, it's about as down to earth as any forum or club can get. I don't see people sniping each other and there is mutual support. Not all are at a tech'y level, the simplest questions are treated respectfully, and there is a sense of comradery.
